Summary

A introductory course for workers in residential or community settings to
explore and develop an understanding of legal and ethical issues and
how it may manifest itself within the client /carer relationship.

Who should attend?

This unit is relevant to workers who are engaged in personal care to
clients in all care settings – hospital, residential, day- or foster-care or in
the client’s own home.

Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to

∇ To consider what issues may exist for clients in respect to care
∇ ethics
∇ To consider how ethical practice impacts on staff
∇ To consider the expectations of clients of care ethics
∇ To contemplate what constitutes good ethical practice to
individual care staff

This training is not limited in numbers.

Equivalent Relevant information

1. Certificates are issued for each learners and if dated, are valid to that period. N.B Learners attending
must complete the entire duration of the training to qualify for a certificate.
2. A learner assessment may be required post training for audit and PDP purposes.
